Waste Not Crew
Supporting people affected by hoarding and chronic disorganisation through dignity-led care and environmental responsibility.
Supporting people affected by hoarding and chronic disorganisation through dignity-led care and environmental responsibility.
People affected by hoarding and chronic disorganisation are routinely excluded from support because available solutions are:
• unaffordable
• time-limited
• disposal-led
• designed for speed rather than safety
When individuals cannot pay for clearance services, they are often left in unsafe conditions or subjected to forced, waste-heavy interventions that cause harm and re-traumatisation.
Waste Not Crew exists to meet this unmet need.
We provide community-based support for people who cannot access commercial services, while actively reducing environmental harm through reuse, repurposing and responsible recycling.
Waste Not Crew is not a clearance provider and does not replicate paid-for services.
Our work is intentionally designed for people who:
• cannot afford commercial clearance
• are excluded due to complexity or pace
• require longer-term, supported engagement
By operating outside a profit-driven model, we are able to prioritise ethical practice, environmental responsibility and sustainable outcomes over speed or volume.
Disposal-led responses to hoarding contribute significantly to landfill and carbon emissions, while erasing the value of materials that could be reused within communities.
Waste Not Crew embeds environmental responsibility into every stage of our work by:
• minimising unnecessary disposal
• prioritising reuse and repurposing
• recycling responsibly where reuse is not possible
• keeping resources in local circulation
This approach aligns social support with environmental sustainability rather than forcing a false choice between the two.
This work cannot be delivered through market-based models alone.
Without funding:
• people remain in unsafe living conditions
• harm-causing interventions continue by default
• environmental damage increases through unnecessary disposal
Investment in Waste Not Crew enables early intervention, reduced crisis escalation, and measurable social and environmental benefit.
Funding supports people before situations reach enforcement, eviction or emergency thresholds — saving public resources while protecting dignity.
Waste Not Crew is built on:
• Dignity over compliance
• Support over punishment
• Reuse over disposal
• Community over isolation
